The Burgas city beach stretches for more than two kilometres alongside the Sea Garden, which is laid out on a slope. Several flights of steps and paths lead down to the beach promenade, popular with walkers and cyclists.
Pomorie lies on a peninsula between the sea and a salt lake from which sea salt and healing mud are extracted. Nessebar with its old town, Sunny Beach and Sozopol are each a short excursion away.

Euro since 1 January 2026
Bulgaria has adopted the euro: the purchase price, running costs and everyday life are in the same currency as in Germany and Austria.
Schengen without border checks
Checks on air and sea travel ended in March 2024, and at land borders on 1 January 2025.
